Have you ever looked around at your life your career, family, achievements and thought, “Why doesn’t this feel enough? I mean, what more could I want?”.
Why am I guilty for feeling like this? I have a good life, why can’t I just be happy?
It might sound simplistic, almost stupid, yet you’re far from alone. Many people achieve success on the outside but feel unfulfilled on the inside, as though something crucial is missing.
Worse, most folks won’t be able to figure out on their own what’s really missing no matter how hard, or how long, they try. If it was easy to figure out more folks would be happy.
This silent longing and desire for connection and purpose requires a need for a spark of creativity. Why creativity? Because
It takes creative solutions to put a dishevelled life back together.
As you might have already heard or know, if you keep doing the same thing, don’t expect different results. A spark of creativity can be life-changing, and I want to show you how to ignite it.
The Missing Piece
Creativity is not just about painting or writing. It’s about living. It’s how we solve problems, be more of our real selves, and bring excitement to our lives. Yet, in the hustle of everyday demands, creativity often gets buried under responsibilities and routines.
Through my work as a certified wellness coach online, I’ve learned that creativity is the bridge between where you are and where you want to be. Creativity is not just a skill—it’s your birthright, a way to reconnect with joy, passion, and meaning. And as a cancer survivor I can definitely tell you this – life is too short to be unjoyful, passionless, meaningless, and unhappy. Nobody has the time for that.
Why You’re Feeling Stuck
Creativity stems from a balance between the brain’s hemispheres: the right-side fuels imagination, while the left organizes and analyzes. When life becomes too focused on logic, tasks, and productivity, your creative side can feel neglected, leading to that sense of disconnection.
Creativity doesn’t just solve problems—it brings you back to life.
Energy plays a role, too. The sacral chakra, located just below your navel, governs creativity, passion, and joy. If this energy center is blocked, you may feel uninspired or stuck in a rut.
How Do You Find Your Turning Point?
If you’re ready to rediscover your spark, here’s how to start:
1. Break Your Routines Challenge yourself to try something you have never done before. These fresh challenges encourage the growth of new neural pathways in your brain, which enhances your problem-solving skills, adaptability, and creativity. And by breaking routines you step outside your comfort zone forcing your brain to shift out from autopilot. This heightened awareness also helps you to think more openly and creatively in other areas of life. Lastly, exploring an unrelated skill often enhances your ability to innovate in your primary work or passions. For example, a tech professional who starts gardening might find inspiration for a new project in creating technology for observing natural growth patterns.
2. Reconnect with Your Energy: Work with a certified wellness counselor to unblock your sacral chakra. Practice mindfulness, dancing and painting with wild abandonment and without judgment, use the colour orange in your clothing, food, and decorations, and try wellness counseling services! These can all help open your sacralchakra and restore its energy flow.
3. Seek Support: Don’t have a lot of time? An online health and wellness coach can guide you through personalized strategies to nurture creativity and balance.
4. Use Yoga: Positions such as butterfly or cat-cow can open up the pelvis and help to free-up the sacral chakra
Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana)
How to Do It:
• Sit with your legs extended in front of you.
• Bend your knees and bring the soles of your feet together, letting your knees fall downward.
• Breathe deeply in and out of your nose only.
• Hold your feet with your hands and gently flap your knees up and down like a butterfly.
• Repeat gently 5-10 times followed by rest with gentle breaths in and out of the nose only.
• Benefits: Opens the hips and pelvis, releasing tension and encouraging emotional flow.
Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana)
• How to Do It:
• Start on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and knees under your hips.
• Always move fluidly with your breath. Breathe deeply in and out of your nose only.
• Inhale, arch your back (Cow), lifting your head and tailbone.
• Exhale, round your spine (Cat), tucking your chin and tailbone.
Repeat 3-5 times and then rest with gentle breaths in and out of the nose only.
• Benefits: Encourages fluidity in the spine and pelvis, awakening creative energy.
